The Adventure Continues

Following the success of the Kasaka River Lodge Workshops hosting a total of 58 participants in 2023, we have continued our mission of becoming a beacon of empowerment for women across various sectors in Zambia. These workshops provide a vital platform for women to showcase their talents and accomplishments while gaining essential skills and mentorship to advance their careers and personal development.

Women in Podcasting

With Chulu Chansa
The podcasting workshop, led by Chulu Chansa, brought together a diverse group of Zambian podcasters with varying skill levels. Participants engaged in a creative hub, gaining practical tools and actionable strategies for podcast growth and monetization. The workshop also emphasized the importance of networking, aiming to build long-term connections within the Zambian podcasting community. The event fostered collaboration and knowledge-sharing, empowering podcasters to enhance their craft and broaden their audience reach.

Women in Ethnobotany

From May 7-10, 2024, the Women's History Museum and Kasaka River Lodge hosted a workshop focused on ethnobotany. Participants explored the intersection of traditional wisdom and ecological knowledge. The workshop featured hands-on experience with ethnobotanical materials, including Impemba clay and local fruits like baobab, highlighting their medicinal, culinary, and ecological benefits. The innate human connection to plants, as living beings, was a key theme throughout the workshop.

Women in Coding

The Women in Coding Workshop, facilitated by ETHZambezi and Girl Coders Zambia, hosted by the Women's History Museum of Zambia, introduced participants to Blockchain, Web3 development, and coding with AI for our part. We focused on the fundamentals of these technologies and practical coding applications. The workshop concluded with pitch simulations for innovative app ideas.

The Women in Hospitality Workshop at Kasaka River Lodge on June 19-20, 2024, focused on key industry challenges and best practices. Topics included balancing academic theory with real-world experience, the importance of mentorship, stress management, and maintaining professionalism. Emphasis was placed on communication, mental health, customer care, and the evolving role of technology in hospitality. Experts like Dabila Kapotwe and Ronish Joory shared insights on remaining competitive, effective leadership, and the significance of personal and professional development.
